Issues with Trading and how to fix them
This is just what I encountered since Dec 6th I'm sure others can add more:
1) Scamming a.) trying ex/alch/etc. instead of div b.) removing the currency last second hoping you're too slow b.) putting up similar (Morior Invictus with bad rolls for example) but not exactly the same item. A guildmade lost 30d this way 2) Pricefixing, or assuming every trade is a scam so they relist for a higher price 3) People afk or not caring about 1, 10 or 50 exalts so they never reply 4) Console players getting scammed constantly because they have no price checking tools All of this and more could be easily fixed by adding some form of insta-buyouts as well as a trade listing window that automatically suggests a price for your item based on it's tiers/other items. I know GGG doesn't care about people getting scammed, people know they won't get banned so they have no reason to stop but the whole situation is pretty cringe at this point. I think the tricky thing is price checking as an integrated feature would in some ways stabalice prices to the point of merchants. Although I hate when I'm listing an item to low or to high I feel like that's a part of the game and the economy.
I play on PS5 and I pricecheck some items manually I'm setup with my computer while playing. It's so tedious to input everything manually, Doing it on the phone is an even worse experience. I think just having your actual inventory visible on the website and being able to click items to search for similar (much like you can copy items you find) would be super useful. Ultimately a companion trading app on my phone that could see my inventory and some pricechecking. Trading item this way without having to be online in game even would be insane and a great companion game. Could come with a trading pet microtransaction that handles the trade in game |
