Rare Precursors

I purchased one today for 120ex and am really excited to run some maps off it tonight but in all of my hours I’ve never come across a rare precursor. Is there any specific farming I need to be doing to acquire more of these?

it's on the boss atlas passive skill points, kill the main boss and he will drop a rare tablet
