cruel mode after release
I understand that this mode is only in the game to compensate for the lack of the remain 3 acts. But it is something I think that should stay afterwards.
It would be a QoL improvement to those who want to enjoy something other than endgame for the rest of the character's journey. You would gain more players cause you give options. I know we are in EA and we may get more endgame content, but this is for those who enjoy running the campaign. Maybe have a seperate mode. infinite campaign sounds pretty cool, i just doubt it they will do it

This is one of those ARPGs features that should be a norm for the games. It gives options and I can see removing it after release bring up a lot of threads on why or requesting it back.
You can also add a "masochist mode". For those who want to go HC M and as a retort to those who think the game is always in this mode lol |

yeah we had Ruthless mode in poe1, i enjoyed it but endgame was a bit rng gated due to low map/waystone drops. would very much like it here tho. the more options the better imo, we will see what happens

Additional Campaign difficulties could be a good alternative to maps, especially since campaign builds and map builds are wildly different. Plus, I found campaign combat to be infinitely more engaging than map combat. I've personally found map builds to be excessively boring to play; I was bored by Tier 3 maps. There's no way I'm going to slog through that for the pinnacle bosses, talk about the monotony of mediocrity. LOL

I agree campaign and endgame builds are different.
I never enjoyed endgame content cause it felt like it is always a loop that lacks the carrot I want. It's the same thing over and over for just ladders and bragging rights. I like campaigns that are repeatable cause I feel it has more purpose than competition. And let's not forget, before the endgame content, APRGs survived on harder modes for how long? Endgame is just content for what I feel is primary. Last edited by Prisoner0#7988 on Jan 24, 2025, 11:34:52 AM

Yeah, its a shame that they have such good combat in the early game, then they just throw it all away at the end game. Seems like a waste.
They clearly have two play styles; they just need to figure out how to properly leverage both of them so that there is an ever wider array of content. |
