The Good, the bad and the ugly.

I originally was not going to post anything but since this is early access i figured i might as well give my opinion. My story is i fall outside of the realm of your average gamer. I am 62 years old. I started playing online games in 1998 with Ultima Online and progressed to 10+ years of World of Warcraft. I only recently over the last 2 years started playing POE.

The good....

You slowed the game down. You made it harder. You provided us with the tools to figure out how to play without me having to watch 100's of hours of video of streamers on crack.

Some suggestions since the game seems to be some cross between POE & World of Warcraft. World of Warcraft has the most detailed combat log ever created. If the game is going to be harder it would be nice to know what is killing us so we can improve. It would also be nice to actually see the mobs attacking us that are not either ares or bosses.

The bad....

This is main reason i feel like i no longer want to play. I play SSF which is my choice. So if i chose to grind low level maps to level and gear up its because i enjoy it. I don't enjoy getting obliterated in maps that i out level by 8 to 10 levels. Nothing should be able to kill me in seconds flat. I should be able to cruise thru maps that i out level.

The ugly....

I didn't play POE early on so i can only speak of recent experience. You folks have had over a decade to figure out how to make melee playable. I like playing melee in every game i have ever played. It is not melee if i feel the only viable build is to throw down big stone circles and cast totems from a half a screen away and hoping monsters don't get to close to me. Casting Seismic cry is almost a cruel joke as with 350 strength it only pushes mobs back a step if that.

That is my opinion. After 30 year of gaming i am sure people have others. In the end there with always be people who disagree.

PS. Having a map vendor who pretty much only sells level one maps seems like a cruel joke. I don't think GGG wants us buying bags of level 1 maps and reforging them to get to the tier we need.
