Why is there no real MP in ENDGAME?
To me it seems as if everything before Endgame is at least to some extent well thought out but once you are in endgame its the complete opposite - besides all fun game mechancs and difficulty suddenly get crushed with one hit one skill builds - many of who probably havent even seen an enemy in the last hundred hours.
But whats even worse is - there is absolutely nothing to make ppl play in COOP - pretty much everything is even the opposite its made in a way to make MP as awful as possible. Besides having big disadvantages there also is zero implementation for Multiplayer. The - to be honest - awful group search isnt available - there is no looking for group chat etc. and there also is no real way of limiting what the other player can do in your map - which is a real issue since maps arent cheap and you can fail them. If i had to rate this game: - CAMPAIGN 9/10 (except some of the awful maps in Act2 and Act3(lots of dead ends, no variety and lack of enough savepoints to teleport)) - ENDGAME 5/10 - it starts as a 8/10 and gets worse over time and seems to kick everything new overboard that made the Campaign, Combat and Leveling so great Last bumped on Jan 24, 2025, 5:36:32 PM

" Sadly this is normal for POE, first game had similar problems with multiplayer, they aim to make MP viable, but rarely if ever make content directed towards MP. I do expect to see Message Boards like we had in POE1 by Live Launch however. |

I haven't noticed a disavantage to play coop except maybe the extra health mobs have but in exchange there's a lot more drops and things dies quicker in the end.

" Yeah but there are hope you never see them ^^ For example - the difficulty pretty much scales with player ammount - everything else seems to be pointless. So if you have a big group and some ppl cant carry their weight bosses will suddenly become almost unbeatable even if you could solo them easily before. |

Okay maybe i just miss a lot - but the game is also rather confusing.
There actually is Party-Search for MAPs but it only works if you go to the Endgame City - it doesnt work from anywhere else - not even your own hideout with your portals. Also its rather wonky since you have no way of setting some standards for your poarty and if you join up with ppl from all over the world the lag will be your first drop ... I think the only thing they missed when they designed the MP is the fact that players can't hurt each other
The rest is so painful, that everyone of my friends is playing solo after some tries. - blocking each other in awfully tight maps - check - making the screen totally messy with GFX - check - making a player wait when he dies - check - putting a loot system in place where you can see the other people drops and generally sucks for MP - check Regarding the last point: imagine you play 40 maps and the one where you do MP the other guy gets a divine in the map you opened. " I dont get the last point. Why would i care? Its random and its not like the divine would have dropped for me automatically. Sure i would have liked to get that drop more but its also fun if others get good drops. The Above - yes, GFX is even a problem when you play alone and dont know what effects are bad and what are yours - if you can even see them. I also dont see a problem with seeing others peoples loot maybe im just not bitter enough? To be honest if i played with someone as a freeloader and got an amazing drop i would probably share some of the profit even if its a random. I enjoy games like this 100% more with other people than alone. Last edited by _N0ctus_#6387 on Jan 24, 2025, 5:26:03 PM

mp in campaign is fun imo, if you get over the annoying body blocking.
but in endgame all goes south. ritual is a almost guaranteed death sentence, the altars give way too little room to move, visual clutter/vfx make it impossible to figure out whats going on. and many maps are just too narrow for more players, i have only played with my brother, cant imagine how chaotic it gets with even more players. i really hope they try to improve the multiplayer situation. |
