Any way to skip Trial of Sekhema and still get Ascendency?

As a melee is there a way to skip it or have the life recovery stats that I've built and farmed for, for hours, apply to the honour bar?

Also as a new player is there many systems like this in PoE where you spend 156 hours farming for a stat, and they block your char progress by removing it from your character?
