Infernal Flame + Demon form + Trial fire trap damage

It seems like taking infernal flame dmg and trial of sekhemas rotating fire trap dmg at the same time as demon form breaks can bypass ES. Is it possible that fire dmg source types are some how getting mixed in some edge cases?

I can add that i dont have potions that take life and that i died with mostly full ES. Death happent as demon form broke from hp degen as i was casting spell to deal dmg to my self to increase life gain from recoupe. At the same time i dodged / strafed into a rotating fire trap in the trials.
