Trialmaster's challenge quest bug

Was running trials of chaos and tried to skip some time so used leap slam to jump down the cliff before 'activating' trialmaster npc that appears at the start of this location. Then i went for the boss and killed it, but because i didn't activate trialmaster, even after the boss died my quest progress didn't update so i couldn't get to the next room.
