game crash when trying to join friends games

been having a session today and every time i tried to use the swirl on him my game would crash.
Sometimes i would get an error saying server instance id not found. I was checking to see if i could see his instances by hitting ctrl On the way points to see if i could join his zones.. sometimes i didnt see his zone. other times i got a different error

edit: i have done a Verify game files on Steam process and 2 files downloaded. checking if this fixed the issue.
