Latency spikes at specific times

Hey everyone,

I have been experiencing latency spikes at European crowded times since the start of the game. I tried every solution for this kind of topic that has been created on forums. I contacted my ISP they even changed my modem and they say there is no problem they can observe. I can not prove them there is latency spikes on specific times.

I have seen WinMTR test page on forums and run it according to the instructions, there is the result.

Someone who can read and understand the results can tell me if these results show anything.

When I checked out on the internet, these 2 IPs that have packet loss on the results 10.40.140.41 and 10.40.131.1 are about my ISP. So I thought that it is not about POE servers, It is about the IP overseas, so if I tracert to google.com or any other IP overseas, there should be a problem with those IPs again. When I did it, the same results happened.

Do I think right about the issue? If someone knowledgable about it can reply, I would be very pleased because I have been experiencing the same issue for 2 months and it is boring as hell. Thank you

Hi, the "packet loss" that you think you're seeing is actually completely normal at certain hops along the route/path as these are considered deflected or deprioritized packets.

Often there is more important traffic being handled by these network devices and they simply drop the echo request or are configured in a way to not respond at all but they continue to pass the traffic to its intended route.

Now, if you were to see actual packet loss or a high ping change that continues to the bottom end of the trace/path, then this would indicate an issue usually where the ping or packet loss issue is first observed.

I'd highly recommend that you run the WinMTR test linked below from a GGG post in their tech support forum pinned post

Ideally test as you've already done to another IP address (Google DNS or any other DNS would suffice) along with the game server IP instance address you're connected to.

To get solid results do these tests when you ARE experiencing issues and when you ARE NOT.
This will give a better picture of what the underlying issue really is.

Lastly, the information I've noted about the ping or packet loss issues and concerns continuing down the entirety of the path is also noted in the GGG link below.
