Can't Play Local Co Op with separate accounts

Currently as of late January 2025 If you try to play CoOp with a friend or family member who comes over to your place and wants to load in their character that they have worked hard to build up, they can't do that. They have to create a NEW character on your account, or choose one of your other characters.

I would like to know if this is something they plan to fix now that they are rolling out patches and fixes more regularly as this issue has been really frustrating not being able to play with your own characters at a friends place. In my case this is on the Playstation 5
