Softlocked Out of trial of sekhama

i recently killed balbala but i didnt know i needed to pick up the quest item and now that i didnt i cannot access the trial at all ive tried to use a normal baraya but that doesnt work and i have killed the boss multiple times and it doesnt drop

is there anything i can do?
