Cant see any messages in chat

Cant see anything at all in chat. Had a friend on console try to be interested on one of the trades i had up on the trade site but i dont get any messages at all. As crazy as Global chat is and the others. its mad annoying when im trying to communicate and not able too. The only time im able to see any messages is if someone that is playing on xbox sends a message. Then and only then am i able to see it.
