full crash during loading screens, causing full PC lock up

so starting about last week ive been getting awful crashes whenever I am in a loading screen, either entering a map, or just at character select trying to enter hideout. just recently sometimes it also happens when i press login at the main screen

these crashed were fully locking up my PC, forcing a hard restart, had to manually cut the power as even task manager was not responding, couldnt alt-tab or anything

ive resolved the full PC lock ups by using a program to limit PoE to cores 2 to 11, while leaving cores 0 & 1 free so i can still bring up task manager to kill the PoE2 process when this happens.


any word on a better fix, or update coming?? its getting worse and worse. just last night i had to kill the process and restart 6 times before i was able to make it into hideout, then i was mapping fine for 2 hours until i got off. today ive done it 4 times and still havent been able to get past char select

cant get an official bug # from ingame as it full freezes.


if anyone else is having the problem the program i was using to limit the cores was Process lasso, learned about it from a youtube video of someone else with the issue

happening alot on game startup now aswell. full PC lockup is being prevented as i mentioned in above post. but the game becomes completely unresponsive. audio bugs out and stutters a bit as it is locking up

Investigating cases where some players experience crashes related to Multithreading and have to restart their PCs. This seems to mostly be for players with the Windows 24H2 update.

It's not exclusive to PoE either - you might have to (unfortunately) sit back until its resolved. Have you tried anything else, like putting it in Windowed or something like that?

I went back to the last windows feature update and so far so good.

this has been happening to me ever since windows recent update, been playing since launch hardly any crashes once in a while but full desktop crash now its lags locks up to i have to hold the power button down... and it happens about once in 10 maps id say maybe 8 this is rediculous

check this video. by following this you will still be able to ctrl+alt+del and open task manager to end the PoE process, instead of holding down power button, should be easier on the PC in the meantime
