DPS numbers seem wrong

hello,

i'm playing a ranger build and have encountered an issue with the "DPS" numbers shown on the skills page.

when i equip my normal bow, the DPS for a standard "bow shot" is shown as 714. but just now i tested a new bow, just to see how the "fires an additional arrow" affix works, and the DPS dropped to 419. this makes sense, based on the weapon's stats, and since it is about half the DPS of my original bow, i assumed it would take about twice as many hits to kill each enemy.

but when i started attacking enemies, i found they died in about the same number of hits, regardless of which bow i used. i even tried using different attacks, and despite the skills screen also showing that those attacks had about half the DPS with the new bow, i still found that enemies died in about the same number of hits from each bow.

i don't know if there is a problem with the DPS calculation, or if it only applies to a single projectile (that might explain why the bow that fires an extra arrow still hits as hard in total), but please investigate this issue as it seems really important to know a weapon's true power when deciding how to upgrade it.

thanks.

hello,

further to the previous post, the issue may have something to do with elemental damage, as the first bow has more elemental damage than the second (due to 2 socketted runes), but both bows have about the same amount of physical damage.

so maybe the runes don't actually apply the elemental damage properly, or maybe the enemies i tested them on had specific resistances to these elements, but either way i think something strange is going on.

please investigate, and let me know if i can help further with this.

thanks.
