My raging spirits are killing ME

I have looked into this as much as I can and no one seems to know what’s going on. My raging spirits are exploding a few seconds after I cast them and are inflicting HEAVY damage upon me. At first I thought it was because I was standing too close but they do damage to me when I’m next to them or 20 paces away from them.
I can turn the raging spirits off and suddenly I can tank hits again, but I need them for damage, the only downside is if I leave them on then I get killed every time they’re summoned.

Are you using Heartbound Loop?

Yes I was using heartbound loop. I now feel stupid. But thank you you’ve saved my controller from dying a fiery death
