Is POE2 P2W by design as another form of revenue?

Can someone explain to me how this could possibly work in a legitimate game? I just don’t see how it can. This strongly suggests that RMT is being propped up intentionally as another revenue source for Path of Exile 2 through a partnership with RMT traders.

Mirror of Kalandra is supposed to be incredibly rare—so rare that a player could invest thousands of hours and never see one drop. Yet, every RMT site has multiple sellers, not just offering one or two, but hundreds of them.

How is it possible that hundreds of RMT traders each have hundreds of Mirrors to sell if actual players who obtain them are as rare as unicorns? Even more suspicious, how do these sites collectively have thousands available for sale within just over a month, with developers turning a blind eye?

There's no P2W in PoE. It's one of the fairest monetized F2P on the market. Vanity + optional stash tabs for extra space & trade functionality.

Any real money transactions are against the ToS and to claim that it would be by design, is a ridiculous claim.

trade tabs quite frankly are borderline p2w feature unless you play SSF exclusively tbh, still though its a fairly decent monetisation solution and i do understand what issues might arise if trade tabs were free
First of, RMT isnt allowed so it can not be discussed as part of the game, or included when talking about PTW.

I have no clue how or even if these tradesites are legit, but it does seem wierd to have thousands of mirrors on sale. I doubt they are truthful in their claims.

Yeah, i think if the game is going to be free to play eventually, they have to have some wall into trading. Having thousands of bots and non-serious actors would be terrible. I think you are completely fine playing the game without trading at least until 40-50 hours in, and to be fair you can still use trade-chat in game to sell and buy certain things.

The statement "RMT is not allowed" is simply false. It's clearly allowed because it's widespread. Creating a rule but never enforcing it is the same as allowing the behavior, especially when it’s happening right in front of you without any consequences. For instance, if a store has a policy against eating food inside, but customers continue to bring in snacks every day without any intervention, the store is effectively allowing it, regardless of the policy.

If only their accounts were public and you could see exactly where their revenue comes from.

Most of them are rmt companies.
1) they buy low and sell twice the price at least
2) they own bot farms
3) they own human bot farms. Human bots is when they hire rusian guy to farm for like a 9$ per day

4) sometimes they sell stolen stuff

Works like this in all multiplayer or mmo games. Has nothing to do with a term p2w

GGG doesn't care.
Every 5 min someone posts me a link to his trade site.

Now you can even sell your divines. And use the money on your dollars to buy other items.

3rd party auction house based on real currency man.

This.

Id remove the "rusian" stuff, to not give the reason to the mods to try to be "useful" and take it down.

But yes. Humans are cheap. And in some countries they are cheaper.
Sad but this is the truth.

You know years (like 15-20) ago I met this guy from "name of a country in Asia", when we played another game (wont mention also).

I was just a student then, and I was surprised, how intelligent person who knows other language really has no other offer what to do, but to sit in a room and click one button all day.

And this guy was smart, educated. Not some low-life deadbeat or something...
Fk, he was smarter than me...
