I want to just play the game, tired of juicing maps and prepping areas, dumpster diving simulator
I find the map system incredibly tedious and annoying.
I don't want to have to sit here and vaal orb 20 maps to get a t16, I don't like that the item level of the loot is based off this. I don't like having to search bar my map tabs over and over again for specific mods. I just want to play the game, this is an ARPG right? Can I just go and kill monsters? why do i have to play this tedious mini game? even when i just say screw it and just run 15s only, i still gotta play with the mods all day, still gotta use the towers.. i literally just don't care, how does this make the game better? Can't we focus on the combat? or literally anything else? then i got the whole delerious thing on top of that, which is insanely annoying visually to have on every map but you know i just gotta do it otherwise im missing out on currency.... sometimes i just get so tired of seeing the fog and hearing the same music that i just have to take a break from it though Also the progression in this game falls off wayyy too hard wayyy to quickly, you can meta slave and be op for super cheap and immediately hit a wall where everything costs 20, 30, 100 divs to upgrade, or you can not meta slave and spend about 100 div to make something work then every upgrade costs 100 div each. It very quickly kills motivation to play the game and i start feeling very bored after i farm all day to get an audience and sell it for 8 div and then realize i gotta do that like 15 more times to get an upgrade. The sheer amount of labor that is looking through all the garbage loot in the endgame really does make the game feel like dumpster diving simulator that no loot filter can save. the tier system makes roll ranges way too wide, getting 6 out of 6 affixes you want 99.99 percent of the time its gonna hit a t1 on an important affix that makes the item worthless. I would love to see the total number of item tiers cut in half and tiered rares to drop wayy more frequently in our maps. I would love if this game brought the last epoch currency transfer button in. I would love if items dropped IDed and we could filter out garbage magic items so i dont have to scroll of wisdom ever again. I just wanna play the game there is too much tedious labor involved with these systems the fat gotta be trimmed bruv. Last bumped on Feb 1, 2025, 6:33:18 PM

Welcome to Path of Exile. Still sane? :D
The idea with all the endgame stuff, typically, is do what you find enjoyable for as long as you want or can, then do something else to break the boredom. It sounds like you are somewhat onto that path. You juice some maps, run those, get more maps, and run those when doing the juice is annoying. I personally enjoy running the areas to explore and juice towers to make some maps I like running as juiced as possible. This does mean running a lot of boring maps and towers. Like 100+ boring or worse layouts and their towers (which I like the new towers), to run maybe 20 map nodes I enjoy. It is A LOT. However, it can be improved. If the NPC runners like poe1's current league has, are brought to PoE2, it could mean, you use t1 waystones on them to explore and block out what you want, and then you juice and run only the things you like to run. What about ritual, breach, or expedition? There will be more league mechanics down the line. You can jump in, exit, and open a map elsewhere to wipe the mods and deli off the one you need to run. Or start the deli and immediately end it. Or just never trigger it. Or do you mean instilling a waystone. They tend to use two different fogs for it. I do wish instilled used regular map music. Progression in poe1 and 2 is similar. This is kind of true for every arpg though. The system is massively incomplete to really set on a take. |

yeah i was talkin about instilled
i don't really care much for more mechanics when the current systems don't feel great, there are plenty of ways they could improve them |

Same here ... While on paper it sounds nice to path to towers, set up tablets, optimize the mods & mechanics on maps you want to run, etc. it just feels like too much busy-work on setup.
I'd much rather have PoE1's mapping system by comparison so I can run the maps I want, I can run the mechanics I want, control the tier of maps that drop, etc... Scarabs and formerly Sextants >>> Towers in terms of my enjoyment. |

" I broadly agree with the op and this statement. I remain convinced that all this will be improved, I keep faith in GGG. However, as it stands, the juice with the towers and the fact that you have to run layouts that you don't like is one of the reasons why I don't play every day anymore. |

" Yeah, and I am sure they will. I mean it is half baked right now. Right now, instilling is the only way to slap a league mechanic onto a waystone. I think they could do the same for others. Thinking about it more, why even have deli precursor tablets? This way, you can have some randomly show up, and instill the rest. Personally, I only want to do deli and breach when everything is right. However, the atlas is expansive, so I could do a bunch to set things up. |

" Completely agree. I miss scarabs so much |
|
" I'm in roughly the same boat you are. Outside of playing with friends which is very rare by itself I've almost completely stopped playing. |
|
" yeah most of my friends have dropped off in playtime pretty hard as well |
|
" if they had this system that works it begs the question why did they change it? |
