"X increased magnitude of Damaging Ailment you inflict with critical hits", what does it mean?
Hi everyone!
Could you explain to me how the modifier "X increased magnitude of Damaging Ailments you inflict with critical hits" works"? And does it work with Contagion? Thank you! Last bumped on Feb 3, 2025, 5:04:43 AM

All the increased magnitude of damaging ailments you have gets added together then multiplied to your ailment damage.
200 base ignite damage and 2 nodes one 20% increased magnitude and one 30% increased magnitude ends up at: 200 * (1 + 0.2 + 0.3) = 300 ignite damage. Contagion is not an ailment so it does not affect it. Damaging Ailments are poison, ignite and bleed. Last edited by Tumulten#3988 on Feb 3, 2025, 5:10:14 AM

Bleeding, Ignite, Chill, Freeze, Shock, Electrocute, and Poison are considered ailments, and Bleed, Ignite, and Poison are more specifically damaging ailments. In Poe 2 your hit damage directly scales ailment damage. Ailments cannot be scaled besides by Ailment Magnitude, which increases how much of your hit is captured for the ailment. So that modifier does just that for critical hits.
As for Contagion, I'm not sure if it counts as poison dot, it may have its own debuff. Last edited by c0rnel#6051 on Feb 3, 2025, 5:07:21 AM
