Stormweaver through the staff Monk

I had an idea to make such a build, I don't use a monk. This leads to 2 questions
1. Sorcery doesn't have a passive for spirit in ascension, is it very critical or can I get it with gear and it's done?
2. Her ascension is, to put it mildly, too narrowly focused, but on paper I thought of taking 2 middle branches for cold and shock.
In general, everything looks good on paper, but I wanted to ask experienced people - does this even have a right to exist?

Honestly I think Chronomancer is better for Ice Strike pseudo-monk build. You get a free (albeit weak) temporal chains aura, and the temporal rift is amazing for melee, oh I took a big hit? Well I was fine 4 seconds ago. Haven't done my third ascendancy yet but time freeze sounds like it'll be super strong too.
