Act 3 Encampment(not cruel)

So i had just gotten the idol to unlock the Temple and was selling items to a merchant when the quest progressed and the idol disappeared. The door did open so it didn't screw anything up(that i can see so far), but it looks like there's a chance for other people at the same point quest wise to use their idol and open the door and it progresses others quest line; I was not in a party at the time this occurred.

I had this recently happen in Act 3 Cruel (patch 0.1.1c), but in my case it appeared to be after I paused and then resumed the game while in the Ziggurat Encampment.

When I resumed, I heard a voice line and the idol had been consumed / door opened to the Temple of Kopec even though I was standing upstairs.

I had interacted with Oswald before pausing.
