Run Thaumaturgical Infusion ascendency for mercenary
equip 2 unset rings - lets you use 2 more skills
equip any 2 skills and slot as many support gems as possible.
unequip rings - get to keep skills, however they are unusable.
The support gems from the unusable skill's still count towards maximum resists.

Not major, but lets you get an extra 2.5% maximum resists.
