Trials of chaos killing boss before trialmaster appears gets you stuck

I ran into an issue where I blinked in the arena at the dragon boss in trials of chaos from a spot before trialmaster appeared, killed the boss and then got stuck. Even when I went back to spawn the trialmaster, it was still stuck and could not progress.
