Possible bug - interaction of Spark crit build with First Approach node in talen tree

I tried to allocate First Approach using From Nothing Diamond, and when i tried to press shift, and see if it changes dmg on tooltip in game, nothing changed, then i went in pob and still no change. Is this how it supposed to work?

It says hit, and spark is no dot. so... yeah.
