Fury Valve +SST is removing shattering projectiles and not splitting

With no Fury Value, SST (no quality) shatters into about 5 smaller projectiles on impact and chains to the next target
If you equip Fury Valve, the initial hit shatters with 1 smaller projectile and then continues to chain until it hits the final target where it then shatters into about 5 projectiles. However, there is no splitting of the main projectile, which is how this skill usually works, as I have experienced in several past builds.

Also, this is in the Phrecia league.

...and this is for the Fury Valve item (amulet). I do not yet know if the ascendancy for the Scavenger is affected.
