Leech Physical Damage as Mana with spells
I dont know if this is the correct forum area for this, but i want to ask something.
Weapons like hamemrs, maxces, bows have a modifier that says Leech physical damage as mana. Now i tried that toether with bonestorm, but it did not leech any mana. I want to know if thats a bug, if its intended or whatever the reason is it did not work. Disclaimer: It was moved here, but its for POE 2. Probably is simialr in POE 1 i asume Last edited by Alzucard#2422 on Mar 3, 2025, 9:54:03 AM Last bumped on Mar 3, 2025, 4:31:32 PM

In PoE1 these leech mods specify attack damage leeched as life/mana. I just saw that in PoE2 this is not explicitly mentioned in the mod text, but the mods still have the "attack" tag. You can check this here.
The result is the same: it only applies to attack damage, not spell damage. Regarding mana leech from spell damage, I don't think you can find it anywhere in either PoE1 or PoE2. I can't remember where it was, but I think Jonathan mentioned in an interview that this is intentional. I guess it would make solving mana a bit too easy for casters. |

There are two kinds of standard Mana Leech modifiers in PoE2.
• On Martial Weapons: "Leeches {0}% of Physical Damage as Mana" • Other sources: "Leech {0}% of Physical Attack Damage as Mana" The first one occurs only on martial (attacking) weapons, and is "local" to that weapon. It is saying that this weapon leeches mana based on physical damage it deals. This is inherently limited to attacks because only attacks can deal damage with the weapon. The second one is "global", applying to your character as a whole. It is saying that you leech mana based on physical attack damage you deal. This is limited to attack damage rather than other damage you deal by explicitly stating such. |
