(FIXED) PATH OF EXILE 1 IS UNPLAYABLE. MASSIVE bug in code. Crazy amount of CRASHES!

TLDR WHAT WAS THE CAUSE AND HOW TO FIX IT:

"
I added back my old memory modules so 64GB total again and ZERO CRASHES.. wild. Only POE is the game that crashes so hard. Fully played through KCD2 with maybe 1 crash to desktop from 60 hours of gameplay and as I recorded the entire game I also edited and rendered the entire gameplay in 4K through Premiere that took another 60hours and I never experienced any crashes.
Guess NOCTUA NH-D15 is not enough for 13900K and 285K.
This concludes my testing. Game is fine. It is CPU overheating. Downclocked my CPU to 4200MHz and never experienced crashing again.

So im here again BEGGING for GGG to take this seriously.
Since POE2 launched and we had that #0000 codes to our names.. my game has never ran crash free.
Its gotten so bad that I now constantly crash out of the game every 10-30 minutes of gameplay.
IT IS SO BAD that when someone wants to buy an item from me, I portal out, game crashes when im in my inventory.

I RELAUNCH steam client. Game crashes during GGG title animation.
I RELEAUNCH steam client. Game crashes while loading into town.
I RELAUNCH steam client. Game crashes instantly.
I RELAUNCH steam client. Game crashes loading into town.
I RELAUNCH steam client. Game crashes intsantly.
I RELAUNCH STEAM CLIENT.. suddenly no crash, and person still waiting for my trade thankfully and didnt quit the party (atleast one nice update to the game that we dont get kicked out of a party with DC).

Anyway.. I am so fed up.
I SENT MANY EMAILS to SUPPORT... what do I hear back? WE ARE SORRY WE DONT HAVE ENOUGH STAFF.

Holy shit guys.. get some more funding from Tencent and hire proper QA.. this is getting out of control.

Win10 4090 and 13900k btw, no other game crashes, can render out 4k videos 4-8hours straight, PC is 100% fine.

edit:
AND CRASH 2 minutes after making this post. Just looting in my T16 harby map.

edit2:
Cannot log in anymore, game just keeps crashing during GGG title animation... fml

edit3:
I am Uninstalling the game, deleting all files from documents and make a clean fresh install, maybe that helps.

edit: Still crashing pretty fairly with 13900K, will switch back to 285K and see how often it crashes.
I think both of my memory 16GBx2 DDR5 kits might be faulty, well.. faulty as only POE1 has serious constant crashing..

edit2: Crashing INSTANTLY STOPS when I disable "ENGINE MULTITHREADING" from options menu. BUT FPS goes to 1-5 in Harby maps, unplayable. But like picking up loot, vendoring stuff, trading with people, zero crashes.

Ive been tinkering about with computer parts now.

The crashing almost stopped when taking out PC memory.
I have 64GB of DDR5 of different speeds and different brand installed.
EVERYTHING else works perfectly but POE keeps crashing even during title animation.

Once I took out one set of 32GB im almost crash free.

I also tried changing 13900K to new Intel 285K and new motherboard but pretty much same scenario with 64GB installed and removing one set the crashes almost stopped.

Its super odd as I do a lot of rendering work and that straings the entire system to its core.. perhaps the PC doesnt like the jumps in FPS.

PS! One set is engineering sample memory.. will go and buy proper retail memory I think, will test more with the one set that seems to be working.. and switch the sets to see if one praticular set is causing a lot of crashing because Ive still crashed with the other set but its like 80% less crashes and no title animation crashes so far.

Found that my 13900K motherboards CPU socket pins were broken.. although everything else worked flawlessly POE1 did not.
Still I feel one set of my memory is bad and the 2nd set has issues too..
But after going to 285K and a new motherboard 90% of the crashing stopped even when playing for multiple hours straight.

Still have a couple of crashes but very rarely, I think getting new memory would fix it. Will go and buy some later.

You're almost lucky, compared to me, playing on Windows 11 24H2 and a X3D AMD cpu = complete computer freezes, not even errors or blue screens of death, boom I need to press RESET!! (for POE1 and 2)

I did try to go back to Windows 11 23H2 and there were NO crash, but 24H2 works better for everything else, so... I'm not playing any POE until GGG fix the problem. (not the same thing as you, but at least you're seeing the game work...sometimes lol)
UPDATE:
Downclocked 13900K for ALL cores to 4200MHz and ZERO crashes.
I think it might be something to do with my CPU cooler which is a Noctua huge aircooler but very quiet so very low rpm-s, might not be able to cool the 13900K and 285K. Gonna add back the memory and see if I still get crashes with full 64GB and if it all was just the CPU overheating, which again, is strange cause no other task crashes.

Maybe also try downclocking your CPU speeds. I use ASUS AI Suite in Windows, simple way to downclock all the cores at once, maybe a bit different if you have another brand motherboard.
