Urgent: Game Crash and Trapped in "Hunting Grounds" Map in POE2

I am writing to report a critical issue I encountered in Path of Exile 2 (POE2). After teleporting to the map "Hunting Grounds," my game crashed unexpectedly. Upon restarting the client, the game continues to crash, and I am unable to progress or exit the map. It seems my character is trapped in "Hunting Grounds," rendering the game unplayable.

Issue: Game crash upon loading the "Hunting Grounds" map.

Steps to Reproduce: Teleport to "Hunting Grounds" → Game crashes → Relaunch client → Crash persists.

Expected Behavior: The game should load the map and allow normal gameplay.

Character Relocation: Please consider moving my character to a safe location, such as the last town or hub area, to bypass the crash.

Hotfix: Investigate and release a hotfix to address this issue for all players who might encounter it.

I have already tried basic troubleshooting steps, such as restarting the game and verifying game files, but the issue persists. I would greatly appreciate your prompt assistance in resolving this matter, as it significantly impacts my ability to enjoy the game.

You have probably already timed out your original instance, if you went through a full file verification process. If not, your current Hunting Grounds instance will timeout after about 10-15 minutes, causing a new one to be created when you next log in. Guessing that didn't help, but I can be hopeful.


When you teleported into Hunting Grounds, do you mean by teleporting to party member or by using the waypoint? Had your character completed the Lachlann boss fight to gain access to the area first?

If you haven't already, you may wish to review your Client.txt log file for hints as to what is causing the crash. On PC, this can be found in the logs subdirectory of the POE installation folder.


Particularly if you had made any cosmetic changes to apply microtransactions (mtx) to your character prior to the crash, you could remove any mtx currently used on the crashing character by assigning them to another character (in either POE2 or POE1). You may wish to create a new character for this in case an mtx is actually causing the crash, to avoid breaking another character that you play with.
