Spectres not saving

I had 3 specters which I had been using for days. Eventually I noticed that somehow one of them went missing, so I used desecrate to attempt to re-summon them. The corpse did not appear. I removed the item which had my specter socketed and my remaining 2 specters vanished. None of the corpses appear again when I use desecrate in my hideout.

The corpses for those specters cost a lot of money and I'm pissed.

Itemized corpses are never added to your desecrate pool. If you want them again, you will need to buy new corpses and re-raise them (and avoid trigger wanding flesh offering the itemized corpses).

I would also consider getting more defenses for minions if you wish to use expensive itemized corpses. Minion block, chaos res, no damage from moving while bleeding, etc.. all the usual methods to build spectre defenses. Otherwise yea, it won't take much for them to die again.
