Tempest Caller and Elemental Storm Behavior
Can anyone confirm the behavior of Stormweaver's Tempest Caller skill?
Elemental Storm is a standard skill that can be gotten through skill gems, but if you are a Stormweaver with Tempest Caller, you cast it automatically (and for free?) on elemental crit? --- My fear is that "trigger" elemental storm is really just you can't use it until you crit, then there's a window of time to cast and then burn mana to do it. Which would be severely less entertaining. Last bumped on Mar 18, 2025, 3:42:40 PM

I specced into it for a bit... honestly it seems a bit gimmicky. I have a spark build running cast on shock (arc) with a ton of crit and crit bonus, so I'm always critting with spark.
That trigger elemental storm doesn't seem to use mana, but at that point I'm not sure I would notice it if it did (my mana only dunks when I end up with a bunch of cast ons in a row since I run archmage). But the damage is not even noticable on elemental storm, it doesn't really look cool (kind of like mana tempest, but smaller). I hate to be that guy, because I usually believe everything can be viable, but I am not sure that can be. I would ignore it in the stormweaver tree until it's either removed or buffed - because without one or the other it's just sort of useless. Stupid people never lose an argument. "Well that's encouraging about the mana use but sad about the impact. Sounds kind of like one of the most on-topic skills of the ascension tree. |
