Massive FPS Drop After Waking PC from Sleep (Windows 11)
Hey everyone,
I’m having a strange issue with PoE2 and could use some help. Whenever I start my PC fresh and launch a game, I get a stable 140 FPS. However, if I put my computer to sleep and then wake it up, the same game runs at around 40 FPS instead. A full system restart fixes the issue every time, but as soon as I use sleep mode again, the FPS drops return. Here are my specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7600X GPU: NVIDIA GTX 4070 Super RAM: 32GB OS: Windows 11 Everything is updated — GPU drivers, BIOS, and Windows. Has anyone experienced this or know what could be causing it? Last edited by br3lom#1909 on Mar 29, 2025, 10:45:01 AM Last bumped on Mar 29, 2025, 11:03:39 AM

This is more than likely a driver issue. It is known that some driver version have issues with the wattage after coming out of sleep. You could confirm this by comparing the wattage of your GPU after sleep and after shutdown. If your drivers are up-to-date, I'd try a previous version to see if that fix the issue.
In any case, I would recommend never to use the sleep feature of windows as it's been problematic since it's conception, more than 20 years ago. Sleep mode is really just useful if you can't wait 1 minute for your computer to boot up. |
