I can't play at all game crashes after clicking log in

I was playing a new character rolled for the new league, I just defeated the Mud Burrow boss. I returned to camp emptied my Inventory and then just the waypoint to return to clearfell. The game immediately crashed, upon each subsequent relaunch the game crashes after the log in screen.

I have tried the following:
Verify integrity of game files - Did not work.
Switch from DirectX12 to Vulkan - Not only did this not work this made it to where it would crash before immediately after clicking launch.

I don't know what to do at this point... I'd really like to just play the game.

i had the same problem but was able to fix it by verifying the file

right click poe2 in library list > property > installed files > verify
