Game crashes upon entering Act 2 Ascendency Trial boss platform

Pretty much the title. I'm playing a Warrior and basically can't ascend because as soon as I set foot on the platform where the boss in the Act 2 Ascendancy Trial spawns, the game starts to stutter and then crashes to the desktop without any error message.

It's a pretty frustrating experience, to be honest, especially since the game hasn't exactly become easier — and not being able to ascend at all definitely doesn't encourage continued play.
