Crowbell fight fully locks ranged minions out

Crowbell went to his last phase where he goes off to a small room and locks you in. Two problems.

1. For me he just disappeared and reappeared in the small room. I wandered around confused not knowing where he went. There is another post about this at: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3742834

2. The door to the room shut and locked my skeletal snipers outside the room. They were unable to use both regular attacks and their gas arrow special attack. Feels bad to have all your damage removed from a boss fight whilst you roll around waiting for your rank 2 firewall to very slowly burn him to death.
