Inconsistent Interactions with Lich’s Eternal Life

I have energy shield on my Lich with the Eternal Life ascendancy node, so my life does not change.

I am able to “sacrifice” life by using the Extraction and Ablation supports. I receive the benefit of these supports without my life total changing.

However, I cannot “spend” life to use the Lifetap support to use a skill. I receive the error message that I’m “Out of Life”.

These interactions seem inconsistent to me.

Hey broskie a bit late for response but imma give u one anyway. Reason why u cannot "spend" is probably due to how they coded that interaction.

To my believe Eternal Life sets your current life while u have ES as "minimum life". And for PoE coding u cannot spend what is your minimum. Like in PoE1 u can have minimum frenzy charges. They will grant you the benefit of having them but u cannot actually spend those to bypass flickerstrike cd for example. Sacrifice or Lose life is coded in a way of taking damage logic, spending is like using it as resource.
