Why do we pay in US dollars from Australia?

As an Australian who is trying to reduce their exposure to US products and services I noticed when buying a higher edition I am send to some xsolla inc, a US based company in order to complete the payment and the price is in US dollars.

I understand it is obviously needed for US players, but why are countries outside the US filtered through a US company when making purchases? Couldnt there be payment software that uses local or even new zealand $?

you will get charged more overall for it in AUD, as it will still need to have the conversions, then there will be extra fees for setting up an additional receiving currency/provider that you will bear the burden of typically in that exchange.

its not really going to give you a specific benefit, well normally.
right now, the dollar is diving with all thats going on so we are have to pay more for the same compared to 6 months ago, but is it more then the fees to set up a new provider and all that admin /shrug
