Cant play multiplayer on xbox

I just tried to join another multiplayer game. I join the group fine but when I click on their portal to portal into the map, i get blackscreened when loading the map then kicked. Then can't log back in until they finished their map. Didn't happen until i got to end game. I could party with people in the campaign mode. this is frustrating. I have tried joining several multiplayer groups and the same thing just keeps happening. Guess I gotta run solo for now.
