Reason top lich players ignoring chaos resistance?

I was looking at too lich players builds/gear noticed all of them ignored chaos res?

Anyone know the reasoning? Wouldn’t chaos be most important because it does double dmg to ES?

Thanks

Chaos inoculation passive?
No CI…. Only thing I can think is they just don’t care about chaos damage? Like 10 lich builds running no chaos res

This is second highest lvl lich on ladder… first is some frost crit build but no chaos res as well.

I think it might be lower priority because it's the rarest damage type in the game. On top of that, the Eternal Life ascendancy point makes it so your life doesn't change. Which means that poison(which is chaos) damage won't affect you.

i might be wrong, but this is my personal reason on why I don't bother with maxing it out.

Build in link has CI.
I got bored and quit. But I ignored Chaos Res and didn't have CI. Simply because:
1. Fitting Chaos res into equivalent gear is prohibitively expensive.
2. Chaos damage isn't very common, even in end game.
3. I have over 15k ES, even taking double damage from Chaos with maybe 10% Res was really not affecting my health pool that much.
The ascendency locks your health.... Chaos dmg ignores energy shield... But not with that ascendency...

This is false. That's how chaos damage works in PoE1 but not in PoE2.

In PoE2 chaos damage does double damage to energy shields.
