Trial of the Sekhemas – Third Trial
Hello,
The way class skill points are earned really needs to be reconsidered. The first two trials are fine — they’re fun and well-balanced. However, the third trial includes way too many rooms before reaching the bosses. For melee characters, a single hit results in a massive loss of honor, which feels overly punishing. You have to keep in mind that casual players may struggle with this and might never complete the third or fourth trial. We’re not all professional gamers. It’s clear that melee players are at a disadvantage compared to ranged characters. This needs to change. Thank you. Last bumped on Oct 4, 2025, 3:03:52 PM

GGG - I've decided to quit this game because you're wasting players' time on this.
I finish the first 7 or 10 rooms thinking that I will get my 3rd ascendancy points. It's so boring that I postponed it until lvl 75. What do I see? I have another 10-ish boring room to complete. I do that too. There is an altar that says interact with this to get point. I do that. There is no points. I google it and find out that there is a 3rd room I have to finish. It has been 20+ minutes already. It's boring, I run through the traps, I die on 2nd or 3rd room. Back to the beginning. Here's the problem. I'm not going to try again because it's tedious, and boring. I'm not going to feel I've accomplished something when I do so. You're not FromSoft. The sense of accomplishment you get from from Dark Souls/Elden Ring can't be delivered in this product. It's not the same. A side note: Boss runs are less than 30 seconds in Elden Ring. Longest boss run in Souls series are one and a half minute. They cut it down significantly since the release of Demon's Souls. +5 minutes Why this ARPG game punishes me and forces me to do something disgustingly boring for another 20 minutes? x4 times more than Demon's Souls. Are you serious? You think it's a good game design in this day and age? This is not a good practice to increase played time. This is your key KPI to increase your revenue - isn't it? You might keep hardcore players (seems they're not happy with you either) but not sure on the casuals. Good luck! |

I think main problem with 3rd asc isnt so many rooms.
But the carryover negative perks for whole trial. Like getting -30% movement speed in 3-4th room from 27 ? ALT+F4 bro. SSF player✔️
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!? |

If you playing slow melee, you likely doing mace warrior, then its clearly better to go trial of chaos since it's really hard to do trial of sekhemas on slow build where you want to avoid hits.
Fast melee like spear and staff is good on both. Range and casters find it easier to do trial of sekhemas. But all this only for like doint trial first time. Later with better gear almost any build can run both trials easily. |

For me the worst part of these trials is that they are basically Sanctum and Ultimatum - by far my least liked ("most hated" would fit more, I guess) mechanics from PoE1. I'm not really a fan of the labirynth in PoE1 but at least it doesn't cause me to swear every time I have to run it.
It's my first time reaching end game in PoE 2, I didn't have time to play during 0.1 and 0.2 patches. I tried the Trials of the Sekhemas a couple of times, every time I lost a lot of honour because of either a stupid mistake, a hit by the boss (especially these 2 big statues-dude that just spam red attacks without end), or a poison cloud that I can't get out of because I'm blocked by monsters. The loss of honour from monster attacks is way to big. Combined with the fact that you have to run 3 trials back to back without any savepoints or way to reset the boons/afflictions is turbo annoying. Maybe it's just me but I feel like the amount of Djinn Baryas dropping is way too low given the fact how hard the trial is (and yes, I have the atlas tree point that increases the droprate). Would be great if there were more ways of getting ascendancy points or if the trials weren't so punishing. Maybe trial of chaos would be easier for me to do (I'm playing Hollow Palm Invoker) but so far I have not get a single Inscribed Ultimatum that awards the ascendancy points. " Hey, great news! You can leave a Trial in progress, remove the Barya, and save it to resume later any time you want. Other tips for problems mentioned elsewhere in the thread: - You can minimize your chances of getting bad afflictions by using relics that allow you to view rooms up ahead; you can dodge afflictions, get the ones that don't affect your build, or ones for which you have a balancing boon - For big boss hits, obviously +max honour and resistance are key but you can also get relics that reduce boss damage; these stack with boons, and can be boosted by the "increased effects of non-unique relics" buff - For "stupid mistakes" and getting surrounded on top of poison traps there's not much I can do for you there except to say try not to do that. |

" -Afflictions, why am I having to deal with this shit at all? it's nowhere else in the game, you are just artificially changing both the difficulty and playstyle of the game of for this specific dumb ass mechanic. Why? why are the skills and build that I have accumulated that is rolling the normal content suddenly useless and I have to regear/respec because the senior DEV clearly wrote a mod he's proud of and has shoved into the game to make sure "casuals" get weeded out. (welp, it's working). - Relics and Bosses. Game already had a ton of bosses, lots of mechanics, I have no problem with any of them. except here. We already have a health bar. It's what we base our entire gameplay around. Introducing a new one (HoNor) that is even more severely limiting in how we can play is absolutely retarded. Who thinks this is a good idea? and having items to counteract it finding a solution to a stupid problem you created in the first place. Just let the boss be the boss, the mobs be mobs, and our health be our health. Jesus Christ. - Savepoints. He's not talking about having to go AFK so he needs to save his game. He's talking about the fact that you can comlete 2 full trials, and 13 rooms of another and if you die, you have to restart from the first trial. WHY???? it makes no sense, you already completed it. Complete rewamp of the trials would be nice. They did significantly shorten the time it takes to do lab in poe1 and made it easier to progress. They could do something similar in poe2.
