Cannot get ascendency points

This is all after the latest patch. I completed the second trial first. Got 2 points. Thought I was supposed to get 4. Went back to the trial of sekhemas. The green item states I need to complete the trial. Complete the Trial of Sekhemas and the ascendency statue is unclickable. I go back to the beginning where the relic altar is and Balbala says I didn't complete my trial and gives my green item back. Help please.

I also have the same issue. I'm currently stuck at 2 ascendecy points.
I did the same thing. Skipped Sekhemas and completed Trail of Chaos in Act 3.
Got 2 ascendency points.
Went back to Act 2 Sekhemas. Got the quest Barya, completed the trail.
At the end of the trail the quest says it's completed.
There is no ascendecy alter or warp out of the map. I have to create the portal myself. When I leave, the trial quest resets and Balbala gives me the Barya back as if I failed the quest.

I'll try Trail of Chaos again and hopefully get to Cruel Act 2 and report back.
