permanently stuck on step 1 of Atlas quest, can't get Atlas points

I started the Atlas on one character, but didn't like my build, so I went and made another character. When I got to the endgame again, the corrupted nexus that I was supposed to get to was DESPAWNED. It completely vanished from the map.
So I went out to look for another nexus. Found one, finished it (with a T9 waystone). Killed the boss.
But Doryani didn't spawn in, no Atlas points for me.
My quest is still on the step "Travel to the corrupted nexus" as you can see in the screenshot.

tldr endgame is completely unplayable for me due ot not being able to get Atlas points.

Screenshot shows that I am on the cleansed nexus.
