Can't name character

Good morning all concerned;

I attempted to create my first character in POE2 today, as I am excited to experience it for the first time. Unfortunately, I could not get past the first class selection/character naming screen. Every single name I chose for my character returned a "character name already exists" message. For about 10 minutes I tried name, after, name, after name, only to receive the same message. No name I came up with was offensive or inappropriate in any way. I have no previous POE2 characters either. While I understand that there are many people who play the game, I think it unrealistic to expect every single character present to have a unique and different name. Is this a problem with my system or account? If not, what needs fixing? Can I not give my character a unique name? Does it have to be my account name? I don't know what I've done wrong. Please help.

This does sound rather self-explanatory…

Try naming a character Zlesh_Test_Name. If that doesn’t work, maybe there’s a bug of some kind. Otherwise, you’ve just been trying names that are particularly easy to think of. Some people do start all character names with their account name, just to ensure the name will be available.
