Trail of Caltrops no aoe tag

i tried conc effect on trail of caltrops and even when i realised those are other caltrops than the ones in the support gem i did notice there was no dmg increase.
So i looked it up on poedb2 and on the support there is an aoe tag but on the spirit gem version there is none.

Edit:
I furthermore noticed that the trail of Caltrops Caltrops do seem to scale with weapon damage even if in poedb2 they are tagged with "replace main hand unarmed attack stats with nothing type [1]".

However i sadly cannot verify this for sure with the support gem because sadly there is no caltrop stats window for it.

This is confusing XD
Does it even scale with dex?

While im at it, the caltrops support gem does not work with whirlwind and Whirlwind Lance, is this intended? Whirlwind Lance would be nice as trigger.

Hey, I saw this same issue. The caltrops is not benefiting from aoe damage increases from the passive tree, nor is it gaining increase aoe from increases to aoe for attacks. When I apply several aoe scalers ( 40 increase + 30 more) it only goes from 0.5 to 0.6 aoe. Hopefully they resolve it quickly.

Also this skill needs better translation. This is a meta skill and runs by energy to trigger. This is nowhere in the description and makes it confusing on how to use.

Trail of Caltrops is still not affected by conc effects damage modifier.

There seems to be no issue with increases and reduction to the area of effect however. It's just a tiny radius and it requires quite a lot of aoe scaling to get any returns.
