i have never played poe1 and i have never got to trade for one single item in poe2 because it keeps taking me to the poe1 page

If you're just using the "Search Items" link in the drop-down from the website's nevigation bar, that's hard-coded to always take you to the page for PoE 1. If you bookmark the page for PoE 2 in your web browser that might help.
