Found two uniques that dont synergize/work together although they should on paper.

I'm new and I'm not sure if i can put photos on this website or not but the two uniques are:

The Sentry Gothic Quarterstaff
(has 100% increased chance to ignite)
& Black Flame Amethyst Ring
(Enemies ignited by you take chaos Dmg instead of fire dmg from ignite)

I'm probably the only Chayula monk still trying to find a fun/different way to play but, the problem is that it doesn't ignite AT ALL.
i put nodes into 100% ignite chance plus double what the staff gives me. Not a single mob ignited even if i put a lvl 1 white tier map in.

let me know if I'm not alone or did something wrong? Or simply ask me a question on more details if needed.

Does your character do enough fire damage to Ignite?
And which skill do you use for attack (look in the skill stats to see the different damage types)?

Thank you for the PoE wiki link to the ring didn't know that exist. I think thats my problem is im not doing enough fire dmg to ignite and the ring which kinda sucks. I was really aiming for a 'Amaterasu' type build where the ignite chaos flame ailment drained their health. I was using whirling assault to get more hits in per second and have a Aoe effect to cause my ignite if it worked. i tried other moves, still nothing. i guess ill just pick up the lighting spear and stop theory building my char. XD

No need to abandon the build idea. You just need a strong rare quarterstaff and a way to do a lot of fire damage instead. The Sentry is a very low level unique weapon, so it won't be suitable for endgame play.

You're absolutely right and thank you. Im still learning the ropes a little. Ill pick it back up and hopefully find a fun way to play the chayula.
