Can’t log into PoE2 – getting cheat warning but I don’t use cheats
Hey GGG,
I’m having a problem trying to log into Path of Exile 2. Every time I launch the game, I get a popup saying cheating software has been detected. But I’ve never used any kind of cheat or third-party program with PoE. I’ve checked my PC and made sure nothing suspicious is running—no overlays, macros, or anything like that. I even closed some background apps just in case, but the warning still shows up. Honestly, I have no idea what could be triggering this, and it’s stopping me from playing. Is there any way to figure out what’s causing it? I’d be happy to provide logs or whatever you need. Thanks for your help! Last bumped on May 4, 2025, 1:10:41 AM

Heyo,
Unfortunately, GGG don't offer any technical support themselves. You can verify this for yourself by emailing techsupport@grindinggear.com (and waiting several days...). Have you placed any additional files in the game's directory for any reason? One of the most common causes of this notice is people downloading an unofficial "fix" for ultrawide support, which GGG has expressly referred to as being unauthorised and something that can result in a ban. (FWIW, I don't care what you do and there's no judgement here on my end at all. I'm just trying to help you get to the bottom of whatever's triggering it.) Today… by divine decree… your patch of Excel, begins.
