Herald of Ash and Acrimony doubt!

Hey guys!
Im currently using an Titan with Magma Barrier and wants to know if anyone knows if (support gems) Acrimony or Swift Affliction works with it.

Herald of ash = overkill damage that will be a ignite damage over time (3 sec). Those support gems descriptions (acrimony and Swift affflict) made clear that they need a "non ailment damage over time", what go agains Herald "ignite overkill".

The in game settings allow me to put the gems in Herald slots, but for me the descriptions do not make sense and it should not work.

Someone can help? Maybe the overkill damage of herald is different, I really dont know.
