PoE 2 - Dawn of the Hunt - King in the Mist - Act 1 - Missing spirit after completion

I started new character - Witch and when I played King in the Mist in Freythorn the gembloom skull dropped and I have used it as always but +30 spirit was not added to my character. Only 30 initial spirit was still present on my character. I didn't realise that until it was needed.

I'm now on the cruelty difficulty and just wonder if this can be rectified somehow.

Any help will be much appreciated.
