Please make a reasonable crafting system and allow unsocketing runes and ele res exchange
At level 93, 50% exp to 94, I haven't got a single item crafted. And it is practically impossible without vast amount of frustration to craft anything. Only corrupting uniques is an exception. That is because at that point most of my gear must have exact mods. Some of them acceptable only on topmost or topmost - 1 tier. Like I need topmost maximum life on every non-unique item. Rolling such thing by crafting is almost impossible.
Last league I have tried mass gamble-buy items of one type, when using orbs (no chaos) and see if something gets even close to be suitable for an upgrade. I have spent around 20 million gold (Alva gamble) with nothing even close. Using orbs of transmutation, aug, regal, exalts and essences sometimes both normal and greater. Essence rolled mods were like 19/20 cases pure garbage - mid tier or less. So the only way to reasonably upgrade gear at that stage is spotting an item that is slightly better on the market. But then it usually has mismatched elemental resistances or wrong runes... Which means I have to upgrade more than 1 item at once. Then probability of buying 2 items that fit and can make an upgrade gets even lower. No possibility of elemental res exchange nor unsocketing runes makes upgrades by trading also more difficult. Summary: cannot craft, very hard to upgrade gear by trade after like 90lvl. 90lvl is about the moment I had my gear setup in a state that was mostly tied together and from that point any upgrade is very hard. And lvl90 means there is still plenty of playing without boredom. So at current state, major part of the game, you are practically unable to upgrade gear or it happens extremely rarely. Well, i definitely feel your pain, but personally. i don't call this crafting. It's more akin to what POE1 was before crafting was added. Actually, not quite, because Orb of Alteration was a damn nice thing.

" Because it isn't crafting. In another thread I posted someone said "just get Phys damage" and I laughed and asked "If I could don't you think I would?" POE2 gear is a slot machine. But yes, you are right, alt orbs, the bench, harvest crafting, all of those beautiful systems are gonne ... not because it is early access, they are gone ON PURPOSE. |

Yeah, I'm not even starting any crafting. I managed to only do 2 gear upgrades, not counting the weapon - the spear. After mentioned lvl90 - one time buying two items together from which one seller went offline before I whispered, so I had to wait several hours. Fortunately he appeared the same day, but it could not happen. Second time I made a very, very slight upgrade with small drawbacks changing one item. So overall I could say that it was just 1 good upgrade.
I did probably many spear upgrades, but that is because it is just one item, you don't have ele reses desync. But still it also reached a point of very hard upgrade, because of same mods necessity. |

Agreed. It seemed every craft I made from level 1 to 90 was lack luster, hitting useless mods, or something that was already crafted and bought only to get a trash mod on ex slamming. It's all gambling, zero thought put into it other than "Is this worth gambling on or better to sell to someone who will gamble and likely brick it?" Leave gambling to the dumbasses who vaal all their equipment (applies to me but you know what I mean).
We need more crafting tools and better odds at decent mods. As it stands, majority of martial weapons are looking for one of two things: Physical damage stacking or accuracy stacking (Amazon). We don't even have the benefit of being able to stack a lot of flat elemental damage for builds based around a lot of hits because of how lackluster damage calculations for it are compared to PoE1. It'd be fine if I ever hit/gambled a crafted item that I could use, let alone one I have to sell and then buy one for the build I am running. It's another thing to calculate how often you need to upgrade your gear just to clear the acts on a cycle reset, which I consider every two acts to be about what I had to either hunt down a cheap min max weapon or try my hand at crafting with the nonexistent drops. Give me a crafting bench and some recipes or something equivalent that isn't a div worth of essences and omens, I'll come back to PoE2. Till then I'm just playing casually. This has been one of my least favorite cycles playing a PoE game and that's after I cleared through T16's and citadel/pinnacle bosses for the cycle. |

you can put a rune on top of another, replacing it
And the no res change sucks big time. Usually need to change 3-4 items and not just 2 as mentioned... |
