Azmeri Spirits - Broken Design, Unplayable Content

Hi,

The spirits fail to keep up with the pace of a stronger player, as monsters get killed much faster than the wisp reaches its target.

Also, they take a huge amount of time to possess the rare monster, sometimes leading to deaths. As you cannot attack the Rare (because it would one shoot the rare monster) and must be standing nearby, waiting for the Azmeri spirit to do its job, which is obviously dangerous in those trickier maps.

At this point, me and several other players are skipping 100% of the spirits.

It's not about their possible reward, so I personally don't feel that boosting loot is the way to go.

Would be great if they moved faster, stopped less times, and simply possess the rare monster instantly. Couldn't the spirit's movement speed scale with the player's movement speed, for example?

Thanks for reading,

I have almost never seen a Spirit disappear because I was too far away, but almost every time the Spirit stops because I am too far away for it to move on. The leash for Spirits to move on seems way too short imho.

Sometimes I even ignore "activated Spirits" because it seems to seek rares at the other end of the map while there is a rare just around the corner. In these cases I come back to the Spirit later on and it is still there waiting to hunt the rare on the other end of the map.

At the same time, the Spirit takes way too long and needs to be way too close to possess rares. Dancing between Spirits and rares (incl. all those monsters around the rares you cant kill in the meantime because you might kill the rare) may be an intended mechanic, but the time it takes for the Spirit feels too long nevertheless.

I feel the Spirit mechanic itself is fine, the probability of seeing Spirits is fine, the probability of seeing good Spirits seems to be okay-ish (found only two of the Spirits that upgrade monsters from normal to magic etc. during T1-T15 mapping on two separate characters), and the drop chance of Talismans seems fine.

It's just the constant stopping of the Spirit and the time/ (close) distance it takes to possess rares that are off imho.
Nah it's just the game telling you you're playing a zoomer build that's gonna get nerfed next patch :)

True. Play a normal build that isn't hyper-engineered. Lightning spear won't stay forever.

To what extend does a build impact the constant stopping of Wisps, or the time delay/ proximity required to posses rares?

I know trolling is a art, but this does not invalidate the feedback given to devs.
assmeri wisps as a league mechanic is horrendous, uninspiring and thoughtless. The player has no participation other than to follow. No choices are made and the rewards are to say the least, uninteresting. By uninteresting, I do mean its again you not having any part in the decision making process. You just pray it drops something. I can certainly tell you I'm not a person of prayer.
`Spent 2 mirrors on my build, but I'm only Level 98.` LOL
`From just quick sweep of your characters, toxic rain, golems .. sure, non meta... sure.` LOL

I never mentioned what build I'm playing, but I can confirm that you're wrong.

Also, since you're here, might as well actually give feedback about the Azmeri spirits, which you did not.

Thanks for nothing,

So you cant attack the rare without one shotting it but you also cant survive the two seconds it takes for the spirit to possess it.

Your problem is that your playing a overtuned glass cannon build and expecting it to be good for every mechanic. This is not the case.

I am very determined to play the vision, but mobs spam bullshits that one-shot my 78% ele res. I have to zoom and kill them first. I suppose you work for ggg, tell them this. And make sure they actually play the game.
I never found the spirit too slow. I play SSF without meta stuff like lightning spear and some whisps escaped me due to me not clearing the mobs quickly enough and me also not wanting to risk walking into a large mob group to follow the whisp.

I think this spirit is supposed to be a risk-reward mechanic. Its supposed to be dangerous to follow it and if what you are describing makes it more difficult for a glass cannon like build, then thats a good thing.
